Georgia Football: Nick Chubb on Herschel, “…I could never do it like he did”

It didn’t take long for Georgia fans to start making comparisons, but make no mistake, Chubb is hoping to leave his own stamp—and Herschel is all for that being the case. Photo: GameDay/Radi Nabulsi

It’s common knowledge by now that Georgia Running Back Nick Chubb had a candid conversation with Georgia Bulldog Legend, Herschel Walker, but what has continually struck me about Chubb—no matter how high his profile has risen and no matter what the expectations have evolved into since his debut last August—he’s always the same, humble, hard-working kid.

I have a few more thoughts to convey, but here’s some video of Chubb discussing his encounter with “No. 34”:

Many are already set to elevate Chubb to Heisman-level status—not unlike how both Todd Gurley and Knowshon Moreno were elevated before him—but it’s important to remember that he is only entering his second season—a true sophomore; and while he’s proven to be a fantastic ball carrier and an absolute beast at his position, there are still things he hopes to improve upon (he worked hard on his pass blocking in Georgia’s first scrimmage of the spring, as opposed to worrying about breaking tackles and making stats), and that commitment to getting better is something that will continue to mold him into what will hopefully, at the end of his Georgia career, make him a highly respected part of Georgia lore.
