That said, I don’t have the energy to pick apart the stuff I disagree with in the video below. There are just too many—not to say I don’t agree with some of it…SOME—things I do not agree with this guy on (the guy is just a regular fan. That said, aren’t we all?), and I don’t want to sound too much like an apologist for Richt, but I am not now, nor will I ever be, a Richt basher.
As far as I’m concerned, I will support him until he’s fired or retires because he’s the coach of the team I love.
Some might hate that about me, but it is what it is. It doesn’t mean I accept mediocrity, it just means I am choosing to spend my time fighting the battles I can win—and in this case, no good can come of me screaming at shadows on the wall and posting “Fire Mark Richt” everywhere I go.
I can’t do it, okay? I’m just too damn tired and there are too many games left in the season to be getting my head wadded up in useless debates.
Even so, I felt the video was worth a look because I personally know more than a few fans who share this guy’s logic and who will applaud him for what he says.
At this point, it is what it is, and all I can say is this is what years of seeing your dreams dashed gets you—nice guy or not. Great coach or not. Richt is not now, nor has he ever been, immune to criticism.
