Last week there was nowhere for me to go but down—as the prior week I finished with a perfect record— so, my day ended at a respectable 7-3. Moving ahead to week 7, I’ve selected 10 more games to press my luck on and I’m ready to jump in and make it happen.
And Adam Cubbage joins me again too. He took a nasty hit going 3-7 last week, but picking ATS is a tough business sometimes—I know that from experience.

1. Oklahoma at Texas (+13.5)
This rivalry isn’t what it used to be and the Longhorns’ defense is nightmarish—and that’s not meant to be a compliment. Despite the gimme Texas received against Iowa State, I’m not expecting this one to be close enough for the call of a ref to make a difference.
I’ll take this line and put it this way: It is only fitting that of all the people to hand Texas the shovel for Mack Brown, it’d be Bob Stoops and the Sooners.
The Lady’s Pick: Oklahoma
Adam’s Pick: Oklahoma
2. Texas A&M at Ole Miss (+6)
I don’t know that I see the Rebels winning this game outright, but I do expect them to keep it close and, if they can do so into the fourth quarter, they might surprise a few folks and win it altogether.
The Aggies aren’t nearly as strong defensively as they were last season and the Rebels’ Jeff Scott had his way with them then. If QB Bo Wallace can keep mistakes to a minimum and the Rebels defense can find a way to contain Manziel, anything is possible here.
I’m gonna say A&M wins by more than 6.
The Lady’s Pick: Ole Miss
Adam’s Pick: Texas A&M
3. South Carolina at Arkansas (+6)
With all the chatter surrounding the Gamecock’s “best defensive player” Jadeveon Clowney, you have to wonder how pissed off Clowney’s line mates must be to continuously have to hear about their prima donna football star who can’t decide if he wants to show up and do work or not.
The whole affair is as bass ackwards as Lane Kiffin at a low country boil and I expect the defense, if nothing else, will be ready to make a statement of it’s own—both to the world and to Clowney.
As for Arkansas, Bret Bielema is getting his trial by fire and finding out early that the Big 10 the SEC ain’t. That said, his team appears to get better every week and you can bet he’s looking for his first signature win against a South Carolina team that appears to be losing steam with each passing week.
I’m thinking South Carolina wins by more than 6 in this one.
The Lady’s Pick: Arkansas
Adam’s Pick: South Carolina
4. Oregon at Washington (+14)
Oregon is good…I get that.
Washington isn’t as good (offensively) as Oregon…I get that too.
However, I don’t think this game is going to come down to who has the better offense, but rather which defense doesn’t break first; I don’t feel the Ducks have been truly tested yet—either at home or on the road—and that makes for an interesting match-up here for the Huskies if they can get beyond the magnitude of the moment and the sheer scope of the opportunity they have if they can pull off a win here.
I still fully expect the Ducks to handle business in this one, but I don’t see the Huskies going down without a fight.
Oregon will cover this. Washington will get exposed pretty quickly here.
The Lady’s Pick: Washington
Adam’s Pick: Oregon
5. Stanford at Utah (+9)
I don’t know why I keep looking at the Pac-12 because, to be honest, I could have just as much luck letting a coin decide the team I’ll pick.
At any rate, I haven’t seen much of either team to feel confident about what they can do against each other, but I do know Utah’s schedule has seen a lot more competition than Stanford’s has and that could make for a game that has a bit more excitement than some could be expecting.
Stanford will take care of business in this one. I have no doubt.
The Lady’s Pick: Utah
Adam’s Pick: Stanford
The Other Five (The Lady is in Bold, Adam is Italicized)

7. Boston College at Clemson (-24.5)
8. Virginia at Maryland (-7): Adam Picks Maryland as well.
9. California at UCLA (-25): Adam picks UCLA as well.
10. Baylor at Kansas State (+17.5): Adam picks Baylor as well.
